STAR ACADEMY
Star Academy is a late entry introductory figure skating program designed to assist skaters (between the ages of 8 and 12 years old) with the transition from CANSkate to the Skate Canada STARSkate Program. Star Academy is taught by nationally trained Skate Canada NCCP certified professional coaches, in a small group format. This late entry figure skating program introduces skaters to the foundations of figure skating, and teaches skills for learning to train and practice for the sport. In addition to edges, turns, stops, spins, jumps, stroking drills, and field moves, skaters are introduced to warm-up drills, both on and off the ice, as well as skate care and equipment requirements.
